Hello everyone! 


The TWIO Week 14 is here for your reading pleasure! Activity is rapidly increasing and we are very close to the finish line.  Look for another TWIO before this Friday as much of the action is happening behind closed doors and will be reported out with very little notice. The most up to date inflationary Factor Legislation is located here, SB 5650.


Summer HELP sign-up links are below.  If you are interested in Conflict Mediation, the time to sign up is now at the link below.


The voting for President Elect is happening now, it will be open until Wednesday, 4/19/23.  Are you interested in being a Region Representative?  Check with your current Region Reps and let them know you are interested.  Each year, one of the Region Rep positions is open and I encourage all members to consider stepping up for one of these opportunities in your region.  Remember it takes all of us to make WSPA work.

Is your district using a digital program for digital forms, streamlining processes (issuing electronic contracts compared to paper), or possibly creating a digital workflow? A colleague is wondering if anyone employs a procurement specialist, and if so, would you please share the job description, salary, and whether or not it is a represented position.

IEP Days

Substitute Resources

A district is wondering how other districts handle IEP days.  Does the teacher get a substitute for IEP preparation, meetings, etc., or do they get paid for an additional day for these activities?

A district is wondering if any other districts have a resource for Substitute Guidelines. 

  • Do they get paid for a certain number of hours?
  • Can they cover a class if they are willing rather than getting paid?
  • How long can you use a long-term substitute?
